Dessicant dryers (Adsorption Dryers)
Compressors take in air with the currently existing humidities, including various different ingredients. Depending on the physical parameters of the ambient air, that means between 20 and 30 litres of water per 1000m³ (as water vapour)!
Water separators and filters alone cannot remove these amounts from your compressed-air network. Mixtures of water, oils and gaseous components such as SOX, CO2, and particles give rise to an aggressive compressor condensate that causes considerable damage!
ZANDER high-capacity adsorption dryer systems such as the Ecodry Series offer you protection, safety and quality together with optimum economic efficiency. They have been setting standards for more than 26 years with innovative systems of the highest reliability, maximum productivity and minimum maintenance.
Key benefits
Why treat compressed air ?
Compressed air contains many unwelcome impurities in the form of oil, water
and dirt. These impurities rapidly wear and affect the performance of pneumatic
machinery and air tools. A Refrigeration dryer will cool the air down to a
dew point of approximately 3°C, which in most cases reduces the condensate
contained in the compressed air to an acceptable level.
How do they work?
Saturated air enters the air to air heat exchanger where it is pre-cooled by
the cold air exiting the dryer. The air then enters the evaporator where it is
cooled to the required dew point by the cold refrigerant that is also passing
through the evaporator. As the air cools condensate turns from a gas into a
liquid and is separated out in the demister separator installed after the evaporator.
The bulk condensate is then removed from the dryer by a condensate drain to ensure
moisture free compressed air.
Premier Compressor Services Ltd supply and install Zander Hiross Polestar refrigerant dryers. Polestar's advanced design have led it to become the benchmark refrigeration dryer on the international compressed air market. The heart of the Polestar dryer is the DryPack heat exchanger.
DryPack's unique design positions the air to air, evaporator and demister processes in a row, This allows for a process known as continuous active separation, whereby the condensate is removed immediately along the entire length of the DryPack, to ensure maximum efficiency and a guaranteed low dew point.
