Why is oil a problem?
Water we have used and contaminated with oil finds its way back into the natural water courses and degrades the source of our supply. Rigid legislation exists in most countries to protect the environment and drinking water resources against oil contamination. The limits are almost 10ppm oil content!

Zander filters use machine pleated elements which form the heart of the filter. This means they have 3 to 4.5 times the filter surface of a wrapped filter.
Zander filters are manufactured to such tight tolerances that no contamination is permitted. Housings are made from high grade aluminium castings up to 3" bsp and Alu-chromed inside and outside to prevent corrosion. F- Flanged housings from DN 80 to DN300 are manufactured in mild steel and intensively sand blasted, cleaned and degreased before polyester primer is applied to the housing. Thanks to the strict manufacturing process all Zander filter housings have a 10 year guarantee.
Unlike other manufacturers of filters Zander do not rely on a threaded end cap to secure the filter element into the housing, as this can cause untold damage to the housing if corrosion occurs between the two.
A tie rod fixing is used to ensure the element sits in the housing without any possibility of movement and therefore leakage between the dirty and clean side. It also firmly secures the end cap of the filter and eliminates the possibility of the end cap becoming detached under extreme conditions.
